just back from a lovely day with sarah day-tripping in the berkshires. we went to bartholomew's cobble in sheffield and checked out the shops in great barrington. we came back to sunderland via route 9, a long and winding journey that led us through such touristic hotspots as dalton and cummington... it was wonderful to smell the crisp unpolluted mountain air and count the ny license plates!

my time in the happy valley is coming, after three years, to a close.
i will remember the mind-bending challenges of my upper-level courses, the dry drudgery of lower-level laughable "lectures," and especially the myriad joys of this last semester.
among them: poetry/java sessions with friends in sunderland, thursday nights in bartlett 282, morning seminars in the mount holyoke tower room with mary jo, watching sarah and leah brave the chilly waters of walden pond, the rigors of completing my thesis project, that one par on the third at cherry hill, prof. luna and dr. molly, and the unmitigatedly sweet bliss of happy endings.
on to hingham; foley, hoag, & eliot, llp;... and hls. so much for "time off!"
