A quick mid-summer update is in order. I have enjoyed a busy summer so far, commuting between Boston and Amesbury to the Conservation Law Foundation, a group of legal eagles that use an appropriately holistic approach to protecting the environment. My work has included legal research and writing on agricultural policy, power plant emissions regulations, and procedural issues related to a possible (groundbreaking) suit CLF is planning for the future. I have also had the pleasure of traveling to Vermont and the Berkshires to learn from farmers and agricultural support staff about the challenges family farming faces in New England. All in all, a diverse and interesting set of assignments that have kept me quite busy.

I've had occasion to visit the Johnsons on Monhegan (see my Photos page), visit the Courchesnes in Hingham, and see exactly one movie. The bulk of summer weekends so far has consisted of two major must-dos: setting up Sarah's and my apartment here in Amesbury and wedding planning. We're getting there on both counts. Particularly wonderful is that our apartment, thanks to Sarah's decorating wizardry and some good buys, feels like a home.

Meanwhile, Sarah is taking elementary Physics at UNH (over soon!) and volunteering at the Center for Wildlife in Cape Neddick, ME (a mere forty minute drive in light traffic) during the week. Monhegan provided a welcome respite from all this activity, as will vacations upcoming after work is over for the summer - the Cape with Grandma Gagnon and Denmark, Maine with the Faheys. Then, it's back to law school - I will be involved with the Environmental Law Review again and, new this year, the Board of Student Advisors - the student group that helps run the first year lawyering program. With my clinical, the wedding, BSA, and HELR, I should have my hands full in the Fall.

Enough looking forward for now. It's the weekend!
